so what the heck have i been doing these last few months, and what is this Labri place??!
well, here's some photojournalism at work ( i have tons more photos, but i just can't upload them fast enough!)
we here at Labri are pretty deng active, both in the mind and in the body: the above pics is from a hiking trip that a few friends and i took...really the intention was to get sore enough so that baths would be well appreciated!
We engage in social activities...and laugh lots!
we eat lots of cheese (this fondue was the BEST!), ont his day, these group of girls ate about a pound each! (and im not exaggerating!)
we get to enjoy the most beautiful views, this one, just outside our window!
we love 3 hour volleyball games in the mud and rainy days. See, we're so active we can't even stand still for a photo!
we have lectures 3x a week...most lectures are one's that are paradigm shifting and well, deng GOOD!
did i menion that we do a lot of hiking...this is one that is on the way to a mountain top (we didnt make it since my old age started creeping in, but nonetheless fun!) little diepstra kept me company, pulling the tail of our group (of 4!)
this group of people came together in this place called Labri, none of us knew each other at all, but became great friends who challenged and supported each other throughout. we laughed lots, and enjoyed each other's company. Contrary to fear of cults, this is truly a community that got along with each other, despite having two showers a week, 3 bathrooms, and two shower stalls for the 35 people living in a Chalet. we learned how to think, how to consider things with also an eye to guard against our own projections/interpretations, learned to embrace the tension, and recognize what concepts are couched in terms in order to decipher and illuminate the ambiguity and that there are just some topics that we don't have access to due to its lack of clarity. Coomunicated and being able to have sounding boards have been appreciated and enriching. this past few months have been mentally, physically and spiritually filling for me. i know that not many have such opportunities, i'm truly humbled for what i have experienced, knowing that as i reflect on what i been able to experience and learn.
